I asked ITunes to convert a bunch of existing mp3s to mp3. It was an accident. I didn't really mean to convert mp3s to mp3. But guess what ITunes has been upto for the last 10 minutes.... Sure I could cancel the operation right now. But I'd rather bitch about it in this post.

Actually, it looks like this is the only way to get ITunes to rename a bunch of mp3s on disk. For instance, if you rename "Track 1" to "My Favorite Song" and would like your app to rename the actual file on disk from "Track 1.mp3" to "My Favorite Song.mp3", the only way to do this via ITunes seems to be through the "Convert to mp3" option. Real Player, for example, has an explicit menu option letting your rename tracks on disk.

If anyone has any better ideas for renaming tracks, please let me know ...

I watched some BET over the weekend and got a strong feeling that McDonald's, especially, had gone out of its way to target the black demographic. Fun Fun Fun. I got to spend most of the day at SoundTek Studios in Campbell watching the the School Of The Blues All Star Band in action, putting together their first "live" album.

Learned the definition of the word professional. And that Pro Tools kicks ass. And that every minute of studio time counts; so forget that lunch break.

The band recorded a bunch of Blues classics, and their overall sound reminded me of some of the tracks on the Muddy Waters Fathers and Sons/London Howling Wolf Sessions albums; a healthy, modern edge to traditional songs. This is going to be a top notch blues album and I can't wait for it to hit the shelves.

All in all, a most humbling experience.
